Fruits And Vegetables-Fresh Fruit Salad-Vegan Foods-Detox Diet-Vegan Diet

Wanna join me ? The Vegan Detox Diet

I want to try something new as I have hit a plateau, I love this plan and hope you will too. :)
Vegan Detox Food Guideline
A vegan diet excludes all forms of animal products. A Guide to Eating Vegan Foods (see ) provides a detailed guideline of what foods you can eat while on a vegan diet.
Meat: All meat, poultry and seafood is prohibited while on the vegan detox meal plan. Substitutes permitted include products made from bean curds, tofu, soybeans, grains or nuts.
Plant products: Fruits and vegetables make up the majority of a vegan detox. Try to choose organic produce. You can eat the fruits and vegetables whole or have fresh fruit juices.
Beans, nuts and legumes: All beans, nuts, and legumes are part of a vegan detox meal plan, including peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter or any other nut butter. Beans and legumes are crucial to a vegan diet to assure adequate protein intake.
Dairy and Eggs: Since veganism goes beyond being vegetarian, vegans cannot consume dairy products because it comes from animals. Soy and rice milk are good substitutes for milk and margarine is a common substitute for butter as it is made from soybean or sunflower oil.
Gelatin: Gelatin contains an ingredient that comes from a horse, and so should be avoided.
Sweeteners: Vegans differ on whether to avoid honey as it comes from bees, but others regard it as a “biological, animal-friendly product.” Refined sugar, which is made using cow or horse bone marrow is not part of the vegan diet. Vegans can have raw brown sugar, from either sugar cane or sugar beet.
Drink at least eight glasses of water a day as part of your vegan detox meal plan.
How Long Does it Last
Some people set the vegan detox to a certain number of days, weeks, or months, while others have made it a steady part of their life by following it one day a week. You should follow the vegan detox until your body feels better and repeat as often as necessary. The vegan detox is safe to continue indefinitely as long as your body can handle it, as the meal plan is healthy and nutritious.
What to Expect During the Vegan Detox
The vegan detox meal plan will detox your body of toxins and chemicals that your body has collected over the years. The vitamins and minerals in the fruits and vegetables will provide antioxidant benefits and prevent your cells from damage from free radicals, improve your immune system and increase your energy levels.
Vegan Detox Sample Menu
For breakfast have a glass of soy milk, tea, a slice of wheat bread and a piece of fruit.Breakfast is a crucial meal because it’s a chance to start your day with the necessary fuel you need. Choose breakfast foods that provide fiber to help you feel full. Stay away from sugary breakfast cereals that provide little nutrition benefit and guarantee an eventual sugar crash that will leave you feeling sluggish.
For a mid-morning snack, have some tea.
For lunch, have fresh fruit salad using as many fruits as you’d like. For example, a salad consisting of papaya, banana, pear, strawberries and grapes. For a dressing, use unsweetened fruit juice and maple syrup.
At mid-afternoon have a fresh fruit or vegetable juice.
For dinner, have one cup brown rice, with one ounce of tofu, a side of vegetables and a piece of fruit.
After dinner drink one cup chamomile tea.* Don’t deny yourself snacks. They break up your long day physically and mentally. Going between meals for four to six hours can leave you feeling exhausted and moody. For nutritionally dense food items, choose fruits and vegetables. This ensures you are receiving adequate amounts of fiber, as well as meeting your required amounts of vitamins and minerals.
Regardless of the length of time you choose for your vegan detox, there are some safety precautions you should follow. Before starting a vegan detox plan, you should consult your doctor. While a detox diet can be safe, it ca read more..

Bicycle Crunches-Workout Routine

Workout Routine for Summer

1.To begin with just stand straight and jog on-the-spot for about 2 minutes just to warm up for the workout. Then stretch your arms and the entire body to the level of slight discomfort but not pain.
2. Next you have to do jumping jacks for 3 minutes. This will get your heart rate up and will prepare you for the harder workout ahead.
3. After jumping jacks do push-ups.10 push-ups will be enough.
4. Next you will do split jumping lunges for 30 seconds. Make sure that you knee does not go over your heel and you are pushing through your front heel.
5. Now grab your mat and get ready to work on your abs. Do bicycle crunches for 1 minute.
6. After bicycle crunches you will work on your abs and thighs together by doing mountain climbers. Work for another 1 minute.
Repeat the whole workout except for the warm up exercise and perform another set. Until now you have worked on your belly and thighs.
7. To work on your legs you will lay down on the mat with your one leg up and one leg down. Start moving the leg that is up making circle like movements.  It will be like drawing a big circle in the air with your let. Do this for a minute. Switch your leg and now do the same for the other leg. Repeat this one more time
8. The next move will work on your legs and waist together. You will start with your hands laced underneath you head and your legs will be straight up with you back on the floor. Bring your one leg down and bring your opposite elbow moving the shoulder towards to knee of the leg that is still up and try touching it. Now alternate and switch the movement and do it for both the legs and elbows. Do this for three minutes.
9. To work on your arms you can get a bottle full of water. Stand straight and hold the bottle your one hand and bring it up and down. Do the same for the other arms. Repeat this for two minutes. read more..

American Heart Association-Smoked Salmon-Heart Disease-Soy Protein-Recipe Idea

5 Heart-Healthy Foods

Blueberries top the list as one of the most powerful disease-fighting foods. That’s because they contain anthocyanins, the antioxidant responsible for their dark blue color. These delicious jewels are packed with fiber, vitamin C, and are available all year long. Boost heart health by adding them into your diet regularly. Here’s how:
1. Top your whole-grain cereal with fresh or frozen blueberries to add delicious flavor, a dose of fiber, and heart-healthy antioxidants.
2. Power up pancakes, waffles, or muffins with fresh, frozen, or dried blueberries for a nutritious breakfast.
3. Eat them plain or mix with other fruit for a low-calorie, high-fiber tasty fruit salad, dessert, or snack.
Recipe idea: Make an irresistible trifle by layering lady fingers, light whipped topping or low-fat pudding, and blueberries. Or puree a batch of berries for a breakfast or dessert sauce.
This cold-water fish is a great source of protein and is also packed with heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. The American Heart Association advises eating salmon and other omega-3 rich foods twice a week for benefits that go beyond heart health. Americans love salmon because it is so versatile, easy to cook, and tastes great.
1. Salmon is easy to prepare on the grill, in the oven or microwave, or on the stovetop. Save leftovers to toss into pasta dishes, make into salmon cakes, add to salads, or mix into dips or spreads.
2. Smoked salmon comes in two varieties. The raw type is commonly used in appetizers and on bagels with cream cheese and capers. The dry smoked type has more of a cooked appearance. You can enjoy it the same way as the raw style, and add it to cooked dishes such as pasta.
3. Salmon cooks in a matter of minutes and its delicate texture quickly absorbs and showcases the flavor of added ingredients. For example, toss chunks of salmon into a chowder of corn and potatoes, or wrap salmon with herbs and chopped onion and tomatoes in parchment or aluminum foil and grill or bake 12 minutes for a satisfying meal.
Recipe idea: Marinate salmon in a lime, onion, garlic, and soy mixture for 15 minutes before grilling for a delicious fish taco or grilled fish sandwich.Soy Protein
This inexpensive, high-quality protein contains fiber, vitamins, and minerals — all the ingredients for a heart-healthy meal. Also, a diet rich in soy protein can lower triglycerides, which help prevent cardiovascular disease and keep your heart strong and healthy. In those with high cholesterol levels, the benefits of soy foods are due to their high levels of polyunsaturated fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.1. Pack a soy protein bar or a bag of soy nuts for a quick snack during the day.
2. Edamame (the Japanese name for green soybeans) are snacks even kids will love! Find these nutritious nuggets in the freezer section at your supermarket. Boil them, then serve warm in the pod. Pop them out of the pod to eat plain or with a low-fat dip.
3. Tofu, made of soy beans, takes on the flavor of spices and foods you cook with it. Saute cubed tofu with green and red peppers, sliced garlic, and a dash or two of curry powder. Or add tofu to soups for a healthy dose of fat-free protein.
Recipe idea: Soy milk is not just for the lactose-intolerant. Make a nutritious beverage with chocolate soy milk, a banana, and some ice for a delicious smoothie.
Grandma called it roughage and we need plenty of it each day. Oatmeal is one way to get it. Oats are nourishing whole grains and a great source of vitamins, minerals, and cholesterol-lowering fiber. The FDA allows manufacturers of oats to make health claims about the grain on their products, suggesting that a diet high in oats can reduce the risk for heart disease. Research shows oats lower cholesterol levels, keep you regular, and may help prevent certain cancers.
1. A warm bowl of oatmeal fills the belly for hours with its high fiber content. Top it off with fruit (such a read more..
